One of the best things about sports is when an athlete attempts something that has seldom been done, especially when it involves a sport different from what they are known for.
Yes, motorsports could include both the IndyCar Series and NASCAR's Cup Series, but at the end of the day, the cars are built differently and handle differently. It is rare that the calendars line up between the series, at least with prominent events. The one day a year that they do is on Memorial Day Weekend.

The IndyCar Series will run the Indianapolis 500 in Indianapolis, Indiana and NASCAR's Cup Series will run the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Given how long the races are, and the distance between Indiana and North Carolina, there's no way that someone could run in both, right?
Wrong! While some may think that pulling double duty in racing is running a NASCAR race in the Xfinity Series and Cup Series in the same weekend, the more prominent double duty in racing history has been drivers attempting to run the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
Kyle Larson attempted it in 2024, and will be trying again in 2025. Last year, Larson finished 18th in Indy, but by the time he got to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, rain cancelled the remainder of the race, so he wasn't able to join.
The Sporting News brings you live updates and highlights as Larson attempts double-duty at the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600.
