The New York Knicks are looking to make moves ahead of next month's trade deadline, and one former lottery pick has emerged as a target.
Clutch Points' Brett Siegel reported Monday that the Knicks are targeting San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan.
Sochan has seen a reduced role with the Spurs this season, averaging 4.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game. He has played in just 27 of the team's 46 games.
Sochan was taken No. 9 overall by the Spurs in the 2022 NBA Draft. He had a strong start to his career, averaging 11+ points in his first three seasons. He was named to the All-Rookie Second Team after the 2023 season.

The Spurs declined to extend him before October's deadline, making him a restricted free agent this offseason. He would give the Knicks forward depth and upgrade the team's perimeter defense.
"It is clear that the Knicks want to make an upgrade in their secondary unit, which makes sense after James Dolan publicly made it known he expects this team to contend for a championship right now," Siegel said.
The Knicks reportedly would like to include forward Guerschon Yabusele in a potential deal for Sochan. Yabusele has fallen out of head coach Mike Brown's rotation after signing with New York last offseason.
Siegel said the Knicks are under pressure to make moves after a recent stretch of losses.
"Pressure is certainly mounting for the Knicks, which is why they must make a trade for a key upgrade before Feb. 5," he said.
