Kike Hernandez is looking to enjoy the offseason to its fullest with some much-needed father-daughter time with his four-year-old Penelope. The outfielder underwent a special makeover in his daughter's "salon".

On Monday, Kike Hernandez posted clips on Instagram of himself getting his makeup done by his daughter Penelope. He uploaded stage-by-stage updates, with a final look featuring an adorable-looking Hernandez.

Hernandez isn't shy about entertaining fans with his humor. That also extends to his parenthood. He and his wife, Mariana Vicente, welcomed Penelope into their lives in 2021, two years after tying the knot in December 2018. This year, they also announced that a fourth member will join them, as Mariana is expecting.

Kike Hernandez would hope that time with his family helps him through the rehab process after his elbow surgery. On Saturday, he revealed that he played most of the 2025 season with the injury, and the offseason elbow procedure will make him miss the 2026 World Baseball Classic, where he was supposed to feature for Team Puerto Rico.

"My people of Puerto Rico; with pain in my soul I have to let you know that I will not be able to fulfill my dream of playing the clasico in my land! Yesterday Friday November 14th," Hernandez wrote. "I had to repair my elbow extension muscle as I suffered a tear in Mayo and continuing to play with the urge to repeat as World Series Champion caused it to break the bone. Rehab won't allow me to be ready in time to put on my uniform with Puerto Rico on my chest. I hope they understand. I LOVE THEM!"

Kike Hernandez expected to sign with Dodgers in similar contract to last season

Kike Hernandez risked his contract year by playing with the elbow injury that reduced him to just a .203 average with 10 home runs and 35 RBIs in the offseason. But because he is a fan favorite in Los Angeles, the Dodgers will be inclined to keep him on the team for another year.

According to Dodgers Nation's Noah Camras in an article last week, Hernandez will be offered a one-year $7 million contract by the team for the 2026 season. He received a one-year $6.5 million contract in the last offseason, after winning the World Series with the team. He backed it up with a second ring this year, and also became the franchise leader in postseason games.
