The Miami Heat did not make any major moves during the 2025 trade deadline, which meant their most promising prospect is staying with the team. That is Kel'el Ware, who has been superb in his first two seasons.
Unfortunately, Ware has lost his playing time in recent weeks. This has led to head coach Erik Spoelstra coming under fire because everyone within the Heat community wants Ware to be the building block for the long-term future.
Ware's lack of playing time is not going unnoticed
The Heat have a decent roster, as they already have three All-Star-level players on the roster with Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, and Norman Powell. However, they have not reached their full potential with the current squad.
They could do so by giving Ware his deserved opportunities. He is the optimal player to put in the rotation because he can do everything a coach wants from a big man.

Despite his impressive skill set, he has not gotten the opportunities from Spoelstra. It has become a weird dynamic between the coach and player because Ware knows he deserves to play more.
Spoelstra has been open to criticism about his treatment of Ware. This could lead to a shift in Ware's minutes, as everyone knows he deserves a shot.
"Yeah, that's happened in public. Quite a lot, I will say. Just walking. If I'm walking the streets or whatnot. I can't really say much; it's not my problem to handle," Ware said when asked about the questions he gets in public.
Now that the trade deadline has passed, it could be time to give Ware the opportunities. He might have been the most alluring trade piece they have, so him staying should signal that he will play more games for Spoelstra and the Heat.
