Kayla Nicole’s Halloween Look Has Fans Convinced She Was Shading Travis Kelce

Halloween may be over, but Kayla Nicole’s costume is still haunting timelines. 

On Friday, October 31, the 34-year-old model dropped an Instagram Reel dressed as Toni Braxton from the “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video. “She’s an icon. She’s a legend. She’s @tonibraxton circa 2000. #Halloween25,” Nicole captioned the post. 

While the look was flawless, the song choice sent the internet into overdrive. Braxton’s track is a breakup anthem about a woman warning another that her man “wasn’t man enough,” and with Nicole’s ex Travis Kelce newly engaged to Taylor Swift, fans couldn’t help connecting dots. Within hours, the comment section filled with speculation that the look was a subtle jab at her former NFL boyfriend.

“I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone more obsessed with their ex. So sad,” one critic wrote. Another shot back, “She hasn’t moved on.” Someone else piled on, “Salty af 🤣 But makes for good content, right? Smart! Ride those coattails, honey!! 🤑”

While Nicole’s intentions with the look may never be known, not everyone was hating.

“YOU CLEARED THE ROOM!!!! The level of petty, slayage, and pure decimation needs to be studied,” one fan raved. “This is too good! But also, we heard THE MESSAGE,” another chimed in. A third joked, “This whole time I thought you were just doing your annual Halloween thing, but this was actually some hot tea.”

Even Braxton herself gave Nicole props, writing, “You killed it mama! 🧡.”

For anyone new to the saga, Nicole and Kelce dated on and off from 2017 to 2022 before calling it quits for good. Since then, she’s spoken openly about handling public breakups and staying private in her dating life, even saying she’s done dating athletes. “I'll never say never, but I fully, wholeheartedly believe that I am out of the athlete stage,” the TV personality said during an appearance on Behind the Likes. 

Kelce, meanwhile, went public with Swift in 2023, and the pair announced their engagement this past August.
