Amidst the football season being in full swing, popular track sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson sent out a bold message for her fans. The 25-year-old Olympic medalist has made it clear that she will make a strong comeback next year.

Richardson commented on the current football season in one of her latest Instagram reels. She also revealed that she is eager for the return of the track season in order to show her mettle once again.

Sha'Carri Richardson shared her thoughts in the reel uploaded on her Instagram story. The American sprinter remarked,

"I don't know who need to hear this, but I feel like, I feel like all the football fans now, like now I'm just waiting for track season to come back now that y'all got football season. I'm just waiting on track season to come back."

Sha'Carri Richardson didn't exactly have a great outing in the current season. The only exception to the rule was the finals of the women's 4x100m relay event at the World Championships held in Tokyo. Richardson led her team to the second consecutive gold medal at the World Championships, as Team USA clocked a time of 41.75 seconds.

Sha'Carri Richardson experienced a rather dull season for most of the year. The 25-year-old struggled to repeat her heroics of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Richardson participated in fewer meets this year, and was one of the few star athletes who chose to give the Grand Slam Track league a miss. The American sprinter participated at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo around May 2025, where she stood fourth with a time of 11.47 seconds.

Sha'Carri Richardson then took part at the Eugene Prefontaine Classic, which also doubles up as the Eugene leg of the Wanda Diamond League. However, despite a slightly better timing of 11.19, Richardson stood last amongs the nine runners in contention.

If not for her performance at the Budapest edition of the World Championships in 2023, Sha'Carri Richardson would've been facing the humiliation of not making it to the World Championships for the first time in her career. However, her bad luck continued to follow her, as despite a seasonal best performance of 10.94 seconds, the Olympic silver medalist finished in fifth position. The only silver lining came in the women's 4x100m relay finals, when Richardson led Team USA to the gold medal with a brilliant dash in the anchor leg.
