A$AP Rocky recently said that he's 'not so eager' to drop his album, Don't Be Dumb. He said that he likes things to flow naturally and is focused on building a legacy.

A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelston Mayers, has released three studio albums and is working on his fourth. He had announced the album months ago, but there has been no update on its potential release. He spoke about the album in an interview with Perfect Magazine, published on October 29.

Explaining why he is in no rush to release it, Rocky said:

“It’s about who did it the best. Everything I do is based off building legacy. That’s why I’m not so eager to just drop, drop, drop. I don’t do things to just try and stay relevant, or keep my name in the conversation. I try to do natural things, creative, ambitious things that really satisfy me.”

Fans, who have been awaiting the album for a long time, have reacted to this statement from Rocky. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote:

"Just say you retired bruv"

@Kurrco Just say you retired bruv 😭✌🏿

Another tweeted,

@Kurrco This guy keeps saying the same thing a million different ways…just admit it’s never dropping

Another commented,

@Kurrco "That’s why I’m not so eager to just drop, drop, drop." HE HASNT DROPPED AN ALBUM IN 7 YEARS fym not so eager

Many fans referenced Drake, who appears to have a beef with Rocky, as one user wrote,

@Kurrco Drake literally ended him im crying 😭

Another commented,

@Kurrco Like he was trying to build a legacy by dissing Drake and that didn’t end out so well he had to keep postponing the album

Another wrote,

@Kurrco seems like a direct diss to drake considering that n***a don’t do anything artistic or creative, he just tryna drop drop drop as consistently as he can with the sh*t he knows will likely do well instead of innovating, still rocky gotta drop tho

Fans are waiting for A$AP Rocky's new album for months now. While he has announced the title, i.e., Don't Be Dumb, there is no update on when it might be released.

In an interview with GQ, published on February 28 this year, Rocky spoke about working on his album, and said:

“I’m in the mixing and mastering realm of it. But I think quite frankly, people are tired of hearing about updates about the album. They’re just ready to get this sh*t, you know what I’m saying?" "I don’t think anybody wants to hear where I’m at with it, how far is it along and all that. They just want to hear some sh*t just to see where I’m at, and I promise I got some new sh*t in store. I’m challenging myself. It’s like anything, I approach it with a different tactic, degree, or finesse,” he added.

Rocky's last album was Testing, which was released on May 25, 2018.
