Johnny Manziel breaks silence after missing College GameDay, shows slew of abusive messages from fans

Johnny Manziel was scheduled to be ESPN’s College GameDay celebrity guest picker ahead of the Texas A&M vs. Miami game on Saturday. However, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner didn't make it and was replaced by Alex Caruso.

Manziel took to Instagram to post a slew of abusive messages from Aggies fans. Here they are:

He also apologized for missing the game, writing,

"I will have plenty more to say about what transpired yesterday. There is almost nothing on this earth that would have made me miss that game. To all the people that genuinely reached out and checked in on me l cannot thank you enough." "To ESPN, Pat, Coach, Desmond, and the entire crew on GameDay l apologize it was out of my control. To the Aggies and A&M fan base I'm sorry. I will continue to let everyone out there run with a fake narrative and at the end of the day perception always wins over reality." "I love all of you who genuinely support me through good and bad like you've all done for years. I have no doubt Texas A&M and the Aggie football program will be in that position again. I'm recovering and feeling about a 3/10 going to rest up and try and get back to normal."

Johnny Manziel's Texas A&M Aggies were knocked out of the College Football Playoffs

The Texas A&M Aggies monumental season came to an end in the first-round of the College Football Playoffs. They lost 10-3 to the Miami Hurricanes and will now embark on the offseason.

The Aggies started the season with an 11-game win streak. Some of those wins included victories over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Florida Gators, LSU Tigers, and Missouri Tigers. Mike Elko has Aggies fans dreaming of a potential SEC Championship, or even a run to the national championship.

However, the cards came crumbling down with a Week 14 loss to the Texas Longhorns. That loss meant that the Aggies wouldn't be competing for the SEC Championship. They then lost their first-round playoff game against the Miami Hurricanes.

The future is bright at Texas A&M, and the program will look to build on its success in the 2026 season. Expect Elko to work some magic and keep them in contention for another shot at the national championship.
