John Cena's old rival, whom he defeated a whopping 31 times (and lost twice to), vowed to get revenge for what he called the worst defeat of his career. He promised to enter the 'Last Time is Now" tournament.
For context, the Last Time is Now tournament was announced by John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event, revealing that starting from RAW in Boston next week on November 10th, there will be a tournament to determine his final opponent. This will feature stars from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT, with Cena even teasing non-WWE stars (presumably from TNA) as potential opponents.
On the episode of RAW following Saturday Night's Main Event, Rusev teased going after John Cena and avenging what he called the worst loss of his career, which was presumably at WrestleMania 31 a decade ago. While their last match was in 2017, the two have faced off 33 times, with Rusev losing 31 of them and winning only two, as per Cagematch.net

This was in the immediate aftermath of SNME, where Rusev thought he won the Intercontinental Championship. However, the bell ring was a ploy pulled off by Dominik Mysterio, who outsmarted both Rusev and Penta. In the end, Rusev went from thinking he won the title to eating the pinfall.
It's going to be interesting to see if Rusev is in the running. Nobody will truly be expecting him to be Cena's final opponent, as his name was hardly ever in the conversation, to begin with. Either way, the Last Time is Now tournament provides a huge opportunity for superstars to step up and be the one to end the career of the legendary John Cena.
Things are going to get heated up in the build-up to the last Saturday Night's Main Event of the year in Washington, D.C.
