The Philadelphia 76ers know that Joel Embiid is a fantastic player with a massive flaw, which is his health. They want to be as careful as possible when handling his minutes, which is why they don't let him play back-to-back games.
They have done well to weather the storm this season because they are in the hunt for the postseason. However, they are not assured a spot in the Playoffs, so having Embiid active might be the key to securing a spot in the Playoffs.
Embiid wants to play as much as possible for the 76ers
As a former MVP for the 76ers, Embiid has a special place in the 76ers organization. Everyone knows he is one of the most talented players in the league. He is a special offensive player, and he can also be impactful on the defensive end.
Since he has faced all types of injuries throughout his injury, Embiid wants to play more games. Unfortunately, that is not recommended because he might re-aggravate his injuries with constant games.

In Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards, Embiid was not in the active lineup because he was dealing with an illness. The 76ers did not want to risk him playing, but Embiid felt he was good to go.
He has shown his frustration about it because he feels limited. Embiid found out about not playing on social media, which is not a good look for the organization.
"I was pissed off, I wanted to play basketball. This is more of a question for Daryl Morey or whoever makes the decisions... I found out online that I wasn't playing that night, which caught me off guard, and that pissed me off," Embiid said after Friday's game about his absences.
The former MVP did say that he has no choice but to follow the orders. He understands the rationale behind the decision not to let him play, but he does want to keep playing.
It is normal for any professional athlete to have that desire. This will likely keep happening for the rest of Embiid's career, which is a sad reality for most injury-prone players who are also quite talented.
