Jets rookie Armand Membou expresses frustration after Drake Maye and Co "got cocky" during 42-10 loss to Patriots

Armand Membou didn't hold back after the New York Jets' 42-10 loss to Drake Maye and the New England Patriots on Sunday. The offensive tackle had plenty to say about how the Patriots acted during the game.

Membou was the No. 7 pick in April out of Missouri. He has started at right tackle for New York (3-13) all season.

The rookie spoke with reporters on Monday. New England put up 35 points in the first half and Maye threw five touchdown passes before getting pulled.

"It's really frustrating," Membou said. "Once they got up on us, getting cocky and everything."

Maye completed 19 of 21 passes for 256 yards to five receivers. Mike Vrabel sat him with eight minutes left in the third quarter after the Patriots built a 42-3 lead.

Armand Membou got into it with New England defensive tackle Christian Barmore before halftime. The Jets ran a draw on third-and-long for 12 yards as the clock hit zero.

Barmore was on the turf when Membou landed on him after the whistle. Officials didn't throw a flag but the Patriots lineman went off on the Jets rookie.

"What happened was sorry a*s No. 70 do dirty-as* behind my back," Barmore said. "The play was already over. I heard the whistle blown. Bro came behind me and literally landed his whole body on my back."

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that Membou also shoved a teammate who tried to calm him down. Coaches had to settle the rookie before he reached the locker room. Membou refused to talk about the Barmore situation when reporters brought it up after the game.

New England (13-3) clinched AFC East on Sunday. New York will finish their season in Week 18 versus the Buffalo Bills.
