Former WWE Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer was not impressed with John Cena's heel turn. The veteran recently made a massive claim about it.

After winning the Elimination Chamber, The Cenation Leader punched his ticket to a WrestleMania clash against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Joined in by The Rock and Travis Scott moments later at the premium live event, Cena shocked everyone by attacking The American Nightmare and turning heel for the first time in over two decades.

In a recent video posted on the Busted Open Podcast YouTube channel, Tommy Dreamer and Dave LaGreca ranked the top ten matches of Cena's career. During their conversation, Dreamer also shared his honest opinion about the 17-time World Champion turning heel. He opined that it was the second worst decision in WWE history, with the breaking of The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak being number one.

"I don't know if it's a whole other list, but John Cena's heel term may go down as… It's number two for worst decision ever. I would say breaking of the Undertaker streak is my number one, but the John Cena thing could be number two," Dreammer said.

Another former WWE champion shared his honest opinion on John Cena's heel turn

In an interview with Metro, former five-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett stated that he did not like John Cena's heel turn.

The English star opined that it was not the right thing to do. Barrett added that Cena owed it to his fans to go out as the beloved babyface he had been for almost all his wrestling career. The veteran further stated that turning the Never Seen 17 babyface ahead of SummerSlam was the correct move.

"I don't know if he took some bad advice on the whole heel turn. I didn't like it at all. I didn't think it was the right move, and I think his course correct around about SummerSlam time was absolutely the right thing to do. I think he owed it to the WWE Universe and, of course, his legions of Cenation fans to close this thing out the right way and give people what they wanted from him, which is the John Cena they've known and loved all along," Barrett said. Cena wrestled all his matches after WWE SummerSlam as a babyface, including his last on the December 13 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. The veteran lost to former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther on his way out.
