See Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost’s Red Carpet Rebirth at Emmys 2025
Jennifer Coolidge is willing to be the butt of the joke.
The White Lotus alum took the stage at the Emmys 2025 in Los Angeles to present Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, and took a moment to crack a joke about herself considering she won an award in 2023 for her performance on the Mike White show.
“I can tell you from experiencing winning this,” Jennifer said ahead of announcing Hacks’ Jean Smart as the 2025 winner. “It's not all it's cracked up to be. It's really not. I had gotten really close with my fellow nominees especially after I won but I'm pretty sure they removed me from the group chat.” (For more Emmys 2025 winners, see here.)
To uproarious laughter, Jennifer—who nabbed an award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series—continued her joke, insinuating that she and fellow 2023 nominee, The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki, were taking Ozempic.
“We were all supposed to go on a trip to Ibiza, and I found out that I wasn't included,” Jennifer continued. “And the only reason I knew that was because Elizabeth Debicki and I have the same Ozempic dealer, and you know, at least hers is working.”
Of course, after Jean bested her fellow nominees including The Residence’s Uzo Aduba, Nobody Wants This’ Kirsten Bell, Abbot Elementary’s Quinta Brunson and The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri, she used the stage to deliver a tight five, or, rather, a tight 42 seconds to the delight of Emmys 2025 host Nate Bargatze.

“If I was walking like John Wayne it's because I broke my knee this summer and it's not quite repaired,” Jean joked while accepting the award—her fifth Emmy overall—before adding more earnestly, “One of the best things about winning something like this is that you get to actually publicly thank the people you work with. Our unbelievable crew, my incredible cast mates, led by the incomparable Hannah Einbinder. Our showrunners, beyond brilliant. ... And my children, who are my anchor.”
The 74-year-old—who shares kids Connor Gilliland, 35, and Forest Gilliland, 17, with late husband Richard Gilliland—went on to add, “Let's be good to each other. Just be good to each other.”
