On Monday, NFL analyst Chris McMonigle sounded off on how the Giants are limiting Jaxson Dart's game by restricting the way he utilizes his dual-threat abilities. He took the example of his recent disappointing performance during their 16-13 loss to the Vikings.

The quarterback seemingly agreed with what McMonigle said, as evidenced by a like from him on the video on social media.

"What did we tell this quarterback? We told him you can't play your game," McMonigle said. And we're gonna be afraid to let you play your game. And we're not gonna let you run. And we're gonna play a game against the Minnesota Viking and Brian Flores and we're gonna be so terrified at how smart Brian Flores is. ... So you know what, forget it.

"We were mad at the coach for coaching to win. Now we're not coaching to win. We're coaching to keep the quarterback safe. We're not coaching to develop the quarterback. No. What are we doing?"

Jaxson Dart's rookie campaign in the NFL with the New York Giants will be one that he remembers throughout his professional career. After taking over as the QB1 following a 0-3 record under veteran Russel Wilson, he impressed everyone with his dual threat abilities.

However, despite Dart's best efforts on the offense, the Giants could not win games. This led to the firing of coach Brian Daboll in November. Now, under interim coach Mike Kafka, it seems that the rookie quarterback's game has seen a regression.

During their loss to the Vikings, Jaxson Dart put up his worst performance of the year, completing seven of 13 passes for 33 yards, one interception and no touchdowns. So far this season, he has tallied 1,835 yards and 13 TDs passing while rushing for 407 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Giants are dead last in the NFC East with a 2-13 record and a nine-game losing streak.

Ex-NFL star Damien Harris expresses doubts over Jaxson Dart's future with the Giants

On Monday's episode of "NFL on CBS," former Patriots running back Damien Harris did not hesitate in questioning Jaxson Dart's future with the Giants.

He expressed his doubts over the rookie quarterback's game after his underwhelming performance against the Vikings.

"I'm not sold that Jaxson Dart is the guy," Harris said. "When I watch him play, I just don't think he's the guy. Whenever he tries to extend plays and use his legs, he exposes himself to injuries, and we've already seen that. At some point, it's not just about protecting yourself, it's about protecting the franchise. "If you are the long term answer, you are the most prized possession for the franchise as a starting quarterback, and if you can't protect that, that's a problem."

The Giants next face the Raiders on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET.
