Jake Ferguson injury update: Cowboys get massive bad news as star TE goes out with calf issue

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson suffered a calf injury in Week 17 against the Washington Commanders on Thursday. Ferguson exited in the second quarter, but he won't play for the rest of the Christmas Day contest.

After halftime, NFL insider Jon Machota tweeted that Ferguson was ruled out for the remainder of the matchup against Washington.

Ferguson got off to a solid start against the Commanders. He caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Dak Prescott in the first quarter to open the scoring in the game.

However, that was the only catch Ferguson made after being targeted twice. The Cowboys were up 24-10 before the TE exited.

At the time of writing, Dallas is leading 27-17 with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter.
