There are rumblings in Memphis.
The Grizzlies and Ja Morant don't appear to be in the perfect place right now. And so the rest of the basketball world is wondering about a trade.
One team that could get involved is a fellow Western Conference squad, the Sacramento Kings.
Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee wrote this about Morant:
“According to a league source, the Kings have yet to engage the Grizzlies in trade talks in light of the latest developments in Memphis, but that could change. Perry, an experienced NBA executive who has been a part of roster transformations in Detroit, Orlando and New York, will most certainly monitor all situations involving high-end talent, including Morant’s future in Memphis.”
Morant's trade value is a curious thing. Some teams may shy away because of the conflicts that Morant has been involved in.
A team like the Kings probably can't afford to be too picky, though. They don't usually get top-end talent in free agency.
If there's a chance to trade for Morant, it's probably a move worth pursuing.
It's also hard to know what Morant's trade cost might be, because there are a lot of factors working both in his favor and against him.
This situation definitely has a lot still to be determined, and it'll be worth watching all the way through to see where Morant ends up.
