The Edmonton Oilers have to decide what to do with free agent Jack Roslovic.
And lately on social media, there has been suggestion that they've already made up their minds, but it's hard to be sure.
Two separate posts, seemingly not linked, reported on Sunday and then Monday that the Oilers don't want to keep Roslovic.
These are those two posts:
Oilers will not be offering Jack Roslovic a new contract.
— nWo (@NewWorldOilers) May 11, 2026With the #Oilers evaluating all areas within the org, I’m told after initial talk with Roslovic’s camp over extension numbers, it’s likely he hits Free Agency as they seek a raise looking to cash in on a successful individual season. Door is not fully shut, but management didn’t…

The tricky part is that neither of those posts cite sources or some place that they've gotten that information.
They also aren't clear and obvious reporter accounts.
So is it real? That's hard to say.
It'd be a little odd for accounts to spend their time sharing Roslovic news for fun if it isn't real, but it's fair to be skeptical here, too. It's simply not clear what the real scoop is.
The Oilers paid Roslovic $1.5 million for a solid season in 2025-26, but it's not clear whether he'll seek a multi-year deal this time, and how Edmonton would view that.
For now, Oilers fans will have to wait and see whether this is legitimate. The playoffs still have a long way to go, and free agency doesn't officially begin until July 1.
