Jack Perry has just fired some subtle shots at CM Punk after addressing their controversial backstage incident two years ago. He has also reflected on this and spoken about some realizations he has had.
At All In: Wembley in 2023, Punk and Perry got into an altercation backstage after some disagreements on aspects of the show. This was the situation that led to the Straight Edge Superstar being fired from the promotion. This also came barely a year after the infamous Brawl-Out situation.
While appearing on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Jack Perry briefly spoke about how much he has grown from the situation. He discussed realizing how there were always going to be people who weren't going to like him. Eventually, he came to terms with this.
“And I think, through all that, I finally realised there are some people that are never gonna like me no matter what I do, and in a way that was really freeing because then I was like I don’t have to worry about that anymore, what do I wanna do? I think at a certain point it just amplified like 100 times, and I just realised there are people here I’m not gonna win over at this point, or win back. The people that really matter to me I think I’m good with. I dunno, a little controversy is fine too."Spoiler on Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes - Check Here!
He then talked about how the situation with CM Punk was something he would've never expected to happen to him, but he would not change a thing.
“It’s funny because if you had gone back 10 years ago and someone showed me ‘this is gonna happen’ I’d have been like ‘to me? Are you serious?’ But now also, it kinda is what it is, and I think as much as some people would probably want me to, I wouldn’t change anything. In the time when it was happening, it all felt terrible, but I think it forced me to realise things that are bigger life things.” [H/T WrestleTalk]Jack Perry recently ended a major losing streak
The former TNT Champion is currently part of the Continental Classic after filling in for Darby Allin, who is not medically cleared to compete. Jack Perry is entered under the Gold League.
A few days ago, on Collision: Holiday Bash, he faced off against 'Speedball' Mike Bailey. He ended up defying the odds and winning the match. This would be his first singles win since November last year, and he would be earning his first points in the Continental Classic.

Following the controversy, including a lackluster run as a heel, Jack Perry seems to be thriving in his new role, as Jurassic Express has now reunited. It remains to be seen whether things will continue to be uphill for him moving forward.
