Ivory Coast and Norway meet at AT&T Stadium on Tuesday with a place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 on the line.

The Elephants impressed during the group stage to finish second in Group E, with 19-year-old Yan Diomande emerging as one of the tournament's breakout stars. They will now look to carry that momentum into the knockout rounds.

Norway reached the Round of 32 after finishing runners-up in Group I. Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard are expected to return to the starting lineup after both were rested for the final group-stage defeat to France.

The Sporting News looks at the latest team news, injuries and projected starting lineups for both sides ahead of Tuesday's knockout clash.

Ivory Coast projected starting 11

(4-2-3-1, right to left): Y. Fofana (GK) — G. Doue, O. Kossounou, E. Agbadou, G. Konan — F. Kessie, I. Sangare — A. Diallo, N. Pepe, Y. Diomande — A. Bonny

  • Injured: W. Singo (hamstring, doubtful)
  • Suspended: None

Ivory Coast's main concern is at right-back, where Wilfried Singo remains doubtful after missing the win over Curacao with a hamstring injury.

If Singo is unavailable, Guela Doue is expected to continue in defence, with Odilon Kossounou, Emmanuel Agbadou and Ghislain Konan completing the back line.

Franck Kessie and Ibrahim Sangare should anchor midfield, while Amad Diallo, Nicolas Pepe and Yan Diomande are expected to support Ange-Yoan Bonny in attack.

Norway projected starting 11

(4-3-3, right to left): O. Nyland (GK) — M. Pedersen, K. Ajer, L. Ostigard, D. Wolfe — S. Berge, P. Berg, M. Odegaard — A. Sorloth, E. Haaland, A. Nusa

  • Injured: Ryerson (thigh)
  • Suspended: None

Norway are expected to restore their strongest available lineup after making sweeping changes for the final group-stage defeat to France. Erling Haaland and captain Martin Odegaard, who were both rested for that match, should return to the starting XI.

Julian Ryerson is ruled out with a thigh issue, meaning Marcus Pedersen is likely to deputise at right-back alongside Kristoffer Ajer, Leo Ostigard and David Moller Wolfe in defence.

Sander Berge and Patrick Berg should anchor the midfield, allowing Odegaard to operate in a more advanced role behind Haaland. Antonio Nusa and Alexander Sorloth are expected to complete the front three.

Ivory Coast vs. Norway prediction, betting odds

Ivory Coast have enjoyed an impressive tournament so far, but Norway are expected to field their strongest lineup after rotating several key players for their final group-stage match. Erling Haaland and Odegaard returning, the Europeans should have the edge in quality.

The Elephants have shown they can threaten on the counter through Diomande and Amad, but Norway's attacking firepower may prove decisive in a closely contested knockout tie.

  • Score prediction: Ivory Coast 1-2 Norway
