LA Lakers star LeBron James was reunited with the team on Monday, following the five-game road trip. James hasn't been with the Lakers for some time as he was recovering from sciatica. Last week, he was cleared to ramp up his workouts and was assigned to the team's G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

During the team's practice session on Monday, James spoke to the media about his recovery from injury. The four-time winner made the startling admission that he had sciatica two years prior. He refuted people who made fun of his injury and stated that it's not the best sort.

“I’ve had it two years ago,” James said. “If you’ve had it, then you know what the hell it’s about. If you Ain’t never had it, people making jokes about it, I pray you never get it. It’s not fun.”

James elaborated that he had the injury during the offseason two seasons ago. Fortunately for the Lakers, the star forward looks like he's ready to suit up for his upcoming historic 23rd campaign.

Without LeBron James, the Lakers have secured a 10-4 record. The leadership of Luka Doncic has been a significant help to the team. Austin Reaves has also stepped up his game, averaging 28.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 8.2 assists on 48.2% shooting.

According to head coach JJ Redick, James could play on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz.

JJ Redick spoke highly about LeBron James' "adaptability"

There have been rumors that the Lakers' dynamic between Doncic and Reaves could get ruined once LeBron James returns. The backcourt star has been the driving force behind the strong start to the year for LA. With James' upcoming return, head coach JJ Redick spoke highly about how the 6-foot-9 forward can adapt well to any situation.

“I would describe him as very adaptable,” Redick said. “Not just in my time. He’s adapted throughout his career. The system, his teammates, what the game requires. The league has evolved, he’s evolved. It’s why he’s still in year 23. “I think he’s always been able to adapt… The playing with Luka, playing with this version of AR, it’s not like he hasn’t done that already. He did it for two and a half, three months last season.”

Redick said he doesn't expect James' integration back into the lineup to be perfect. But there's a level of expectation from the head coach that all three players are aware of what they can contribute to the Lakers.

LeBron James is listed at TBD in the lineup for tomorrow's game. Redick said that James' availability will be a conversation between the star player and the medical staff.
