After earning a T20I comeback, keeper-batter Ishan Kishan could now find himself in Team India's one-day squad as well. According to some recent reports in the media, the 27-year-old is likely to replace Rishabh Pant as back-up keeper in the ODI squad for the three-match series against New Zealand, which will take place from January 11 to January 18.
Kishan has been in tremendous form with the willow in domestic cricket. He led Jharkhand to victory in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The southpaw was the leading run-getter in the tournament, with 517 runs at a strike rate of 197.32. Kishan smashed a brilliant ton in the final against Haryana. He also clobbered 125 off just 39 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 clash against Karnataka.
