Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Step Out for First Time Since Announcing Their Engagement
At every NFL stadium, Travis Kelce will save Taylor Swift a seat.
While the “Cruel Summer” singer is typically photographed arriving at Arrowhead Stadium for her fiancé's Kansas City Chiefs games, that wasn't the case on Sept. 14, leaving fans to wonder about her whereabouts.
However, despite any speculation, a source confirms to E! News that Taylor is in fact at the Chiefs' first home game of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles.
This football milestone comes nearly a month after Taylor and Travis, both 35, announced their engagement in a joint Instagram, captioning their August 26 post, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
Indeed, Taylor doesn’t just have the Kansas City Chiefs to thank for employing her soon-to-be husband, but also for setting them up in the first place.
As Taylor explained on her appearance of Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights, head coach Andy Reid potentially played a role in introducing the couple.
“Whatever Andy Reid says, we’re gonna stand by,” the singer-songwriter responded. “That’s what happened.”
Taylor shared that her dad Scott Swift has been longtime friends with Andy, so the football coach has attended several of her concerts.
“I didn’t really know what the sports were that he was doing but I knew that that was my dad’s friend Andy Reid,” she noted. “I now know that he is the most iconic, legendary coach of all time.”
Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce
Ultimately, Andy "vouched" for Travis—and a lot of Taylor's family and friends also put in a good word after he decided to shoot his shot on New Heights in 2023.
"My cousins were like, ‘Please please please, he’s amazing,'" she added. "There was a lot of people whispering in my ear about you and that’s not normal. There are people just willing to go to bat for you."
But what made sparks fly for the “Love Story” artist? While making her podcast debut, she shared that one of the traits that drew her to the Kansas City tight end was his patience as she learned about all things football.
"You're so nonjudgemental about people and you weren't judgmental about the fact I knew nothing about the world you were in," she told Travis. "I didn't know what a first down was. I didn’t know what a tight end was."
Travis shared the same sentiment, responding, "I am forever thankful for you diving into the football world whole-heartedly."
But Taylor didn’t just learn the basics.
"I became obsessed with it," she said. "My friends were like, 'Who body snatched you?'"
