One of the most impactful players in college basketball in recent years went undrafted during the 2026 NBA Draft.
Robbie Avila, the bespectacled big man from the Saint Louis Billikens, is a 6-foot-10 center with all sorts of skills and a bunch of great nicknames.
That's not an automatic spot in the NBA, though, and so now Avila has to wait.

Is Robbie Avila going to the NBA?
Avila was eligible for the 2026 NBA Draft, but in the 60 selections across Tuesday and Wednesday nights, he wasn't chosen.
That means he heads straight into undrafted free agency, where he is free to sign a contract with any team.
Some players prefer to be undrafted as opposed to a late second-round pick, because they can choose a landing spot that works best for them.
That is, if they're getting offers.
As of Thursday morning, Avila hadn't been reported as signing anywhere yet.
There will be questions about his lateral movement and ability to be useful on the defensive end of the floor.
Despite that, it seems like someone will at least bring Avila to Summer League and give him a shot. His passing ability, and his basketball IQ on the offensive end in general, is exceptional.
Maybe he doesn't look or move like a typical NBA player, but Avila wasn't a typical college basketball player, either.
He's still waiting for his chance, but he probably deserves at least a little opportunity, and from there, it'll be up to him.
