The Chicago Cubs desperately need starting pitching help in the rotation.
That's the main reason they traded for left-hander David Peterson from the New York Mets on Wednesday night.
But that might not be their last rotation move.
The Cubs could be players in the Tarik Skubal sweepstakes, or they can aim lower and look for depth with mid-tier starters.
Either way, they'll have to cough up a prospect or two to acquire arms that can help lead them to the postseason.
Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter writes that infield prospect Pedro Ramirez is a "logical" trade candidate for the Cubs.
He is their No. 2-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline.
"Despite a solid .270/.325/.405 line and 108 OPS+ over 40 plate appearances in the majors, he has been limited to mostly pinch-hitting duties the last few weeks now that the Cubs are back to full strength offensively," Reuter wrote about Ramirez.
"With the club's glaring need for pitching help and no clear path to give him regular playing time, Ramírez looks like a logical trade candidate in July."

Ramirez tore up Triple-A before his Major League promotion, hitting .312 with 21 extra-base hits in 43 games.
Surely, there will be several teams that show interest in the 22-year-old Ramirez. He can make an offensive impact as early as this season.
