Is Keon Coleman playing? Bills WR again off to slow start vs. Chiefs

20 hours ago 2

The Buffalo Bills are locked in a tight battle with the Kansas City Chiefs, and for Josh Allen and Co., they are going to need to put on a show against the rivals.

But to do that, all Allen's weapons have to come to the party, and early on, it was the James Cook show as he already rushed for 42 yards on seven carries through two drives.

However, in the pass game? Receiver Keon Coleman, who had been the recipient of some harsh criticism from Steve Smith earlier in the week, didn't have a reception and only had one target on the opening two drives.

Granted, he drew a pass interference call on that target, which moved the chains, but fans want yards from the second-year receiver, and after a first half against the Carolina Panthers that saw no receptions, Keon is again off to a slow start.

Coleman key to Bills taking down Chiefs

Given how much the Bills lean on Cook and the run game, when it does come time to throw, Allen's receivers have to make plays, and yes, it is the Khalil Shakir show early on, who had three receptions on the first drive against the Chiefs; more need to step up.

Dalton Kincaid caught the game's first touchdown, but Coleman, given his draft status, simply has to show something in the passing game. Having not had a game over 45 yards since the win over the New Orleans Saints, and the fact that he only has two games of 45+ yards this season, now would be a good time for Coleman to show out.

He did against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, going for 112 yards and a touchdown, but Joe Brady's "everybody eats" mantra makes it hard for one player to dominate.

But Coleman has to start getting catches, and we imagine Allen will look to get him rolling against the Chiefs.
