Jelena Ostapenko has left her fans in disbelief by trying to sell half-used perfume samples. Fans have questioned the need to sell $5 testers despite earning $2 million in prize money this year.

Ostapenko recently competed in the WTA Finals and reached the semifinals of the doubles competition. She partnered alongside Hsieh Su Wei and lost a gripping encounter against Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani in the last four.

The Latvian uses a separate social media account to promote her side business selling various items. Fans were surprised to see half-used perfume testers among the products Ostapenko had put up for sale.

Here are some of the reactions:

"omg is she broke or smth?" One user said

This fan highlighted the different ways a millionaire can approach their life.

"While your favorite millionaire is busy with Hermès bag unboxings, my favorite is out here doing this,"

Another user reminded everyone that Ostapenko had won a Porsche this year.

"She needs to sell that Porsche that she won in Stuttgart this year."

This fan took a lighthearted dig at the Latvian.

"She's addicted to online shopping but as a seller."

Another user revealed Ostapenko's career earnings through tennis.

"18.5 million in prize money. After taxes and expenses, she’s gotta be at least worth like 6 mill+."

This fan felt Ostapenko didn't need to sell these perfumes online.

"No this is so downgrade, I mean a player with 1m$ this year asks for 5$."

Jelena Ostapenko chalked up 18 wins from 38 matches this year. She not only clinched the title in Stuttgart, but also reached the finals of the Qatar Open.

The Latvian produced some scintillating tennis to win the Stuttgart Open this year. She defeated Iga Swiatek in the semifinals and then cruised past Aryna Sabalenka to lift the title.

Here's what Ostapenko said after winning in Stuttgart:

"Honestly, I didn't tell to anyone, I was keeping it to myself, but I felt very confident since the first day. I had, like a strange -- not strange but in a good way, strange feeling," Jelena Ostapenko said "When I came here, I felt like something is going to happen this week. I pretty much felt that I can win this tournament. Because I think I'm improving day by day and I'm playing better and better. Yeah, I think I deserve it," she added

The 28-year-old also made her mark in women's doubles in 2025. Apart from title-winning runs in Abu Dhabi and Charleston, she also secured runner-up finishes in Melbourne, Dubai, and Wimbledon.
