The Detroit Pistons won’t have long to dwell on their 130-129 overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night as they’ll be right back in action against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday night.
Pistons star guard Cade Cunningham will continue to be sidelined for the contest.
Cade Cunningham ruled out vs. Pelicans due to collapsed lung
Cunningham has been ruled out of the game against New Orleans due to a collapsed lung. It will be the fifth straight game missed by Cunningham due to the injury, which is expected to keep him sidelined for a couple more weeks, at least.
Luckily, the Pistons have been able to hold their own without Cunningham this season as they've gone 8-3 in games that he's missed. The hope at this point is that Cunningham will be able to return to game action in time for postseason play.
On the season, Cunningham has averaged 24.5 points, 9.9 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 61 games for the Pistons.
The game between Detroit and New Orleans will be the second and final of the season. The Pistons bested the Pelicans, 112-104, in the first meeting in January.
