Most thought that if Travis Kelce was to return in 2026, it would be with the Kansas City Chiefs.
While for a fleeting moment, we thought Kelce's future could be elsewhere, as free agency has begun, the franchise has moved swiftly.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has posted on X that the Chiefs are giving Kelce $12 million in 2026, with the potential for that to increase to $15 million. We assume that there are incentives built into the deal.
With Kenneth Walker signed, along with Khyiris Tonga now Kelce, they are quickly moving forward as free agency begins.

Chiefs wasting no time rebuilding
The Walker signing is big.
The Chiefs knew their run game wasn't good enough last season with Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco, and now, they get a huge upgrade in Walker.
It gives the Chiefs a whole new dynamic out of the backfield with Walker's punishing runs and explosiveness now coming to Kansas City.
Plus, we add in Tonga, who will help the defensive tackle stocks, and Kelce returning to bolster the run and pass game as well.
It might only be the first day of free agency, but the Chiefs are already making waves.
