LeBron James has not played a single minute for the Lakers this season. The four-time NBA champion has been dealing with a sciatica injury that held him back from playing in a season opener for the first time in his career.
However, James's fans should look forward to upcoming Lakers games, as the four-time NBA champion is closer to a return than ever. On Sunday, NBA insider Shams Charania shared an update on James' injury on his X account.
"LeBron James has been reassigned back to the Lakers from NBA G League South Bay and will be a full participant at Lakers practice on Monday, sources tell ESPN. James completed multiple days of practices and 5-on-5 sessions this week in the G League and his debut is nearing," Charania tweeted.•

According to Charania, the Lakers superstar is set to practice with the Lakers squad from Monday after completing his brief stint in the G-League. According to Dave McMenamin, LeBron James was assigned to the South Bay Lakers, the LA Lakers' G-League affiliate, on Wednesday.
The four-time NBA champion has reportedly completed multiple 5-on-5 training sessions during his time in the G-League. He is expected to continue his rehab with the NBA team now and hopefully return to the court in the next couple of games.
LeBron James son Bronny James takes a starting spot on the Lakers roster amid his father's absence
LeBron James made history last season when he entered the court with his oldest son, Bronny James. LA had drafted the former USC Trojan guard as the 55th pick in the 2024 draft. James and his son became the first father-son duo to share an NBA court as teammates.
Bronny averaged only 6.7 minutes in 27 games in his rookie season. However, the situation has changed in his sophomore year. The young guard is averaging 11.9 minutes per game this season and made his second-ever start as a starter in the Lakers' 119-95 win over the Milwaukee Bucks Saturday.
Bronny was a developing talent last season. He played a limited number of games in the NBA last season and was primarily assigned to play for South Bay in the G League. The experience from his G League stint has paid off as he has been better this season. Bronny James is averaging 2.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. The Lakers will host the Utah Jazz as their next opponents on Tuesday.
