The Ruby Squid has just one trait that sets it apart from the rest of the pets in Grow a Garden: It can continuously copy a random pet's passive. Although it may sound normal for a divine-tier critter, it can be advantageous if used correctly. For example, if it copies the Capybara, the Ruby Squid will be able to imitate its passives: All pets within 15.5 studs won't lose hunger and will gain 3XP every second before aging.

It is worth noting that the Ruby Squid can only copy passives of pets that have no cooldown. Examples include the Capybara, Brontosaurus, Giant Ant, and the Barn Owl, among others. It goes without saying that the Ruby Squid will become rarer once more pets with no cooldown abilities are introduced.

How to get the Ruby Squid in Grow a Garden

In addition to its ability, the Ruby Squid's Divine tier also makes it one of the most sought-after in the game. However, getting this critter won't be easy, since its hatch rate is just 0.5%. It is currently tied with the Diamond Panther for being the pet with the lowest hatch rate in the Gem Egg.

You can only get this divine-tier pet in the game from the Gem Egg. To obtain it, head to the "Craft Pets" shop and purchase the Gem Egg for 1M Sheckles. You can purchase the Gem Egg once every 10 minutes. It is worth noting that you cannot purchase it with Robux in the Shop, unlike other event pets.
