Injury report: Karl-Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid and more ahead of Knicks vs. 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers enter Saturday's matchup against the New York Knicks riding momentum from a hard fought overtime victory against the Houston Rockets Thursday.

As for the Knicks, they are also hoping to ride recent momentum, having snapped a four-game losing streak with a 54-point win over the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday.

That said, both squads could be dealing with injuries to key contributors.

For the 76ers, Joel Embiid is listed as probable due to an ankle injury, after playing over 45 minutes in Philadelphia's last matchup. Paul George has also been listed as probable, due to left knee injury management.

For New York, Karl-Anthony Towns is the only player listed on the injury report. Towns has been listed as questionable due to a back injury.

Given Embiid's recent form, having posted 32, 15 and 10 Thursday, Towns potential absence could put the Knicks at a huge disadvantage.

New York is already 0-2 against Philadelphia this season, having lost both games at Madison Square Garden.

Additionally, the game holds importance due to the Eastern Conference playoff race. With the Knicks' recent struggles, Philadelphia trails by only 1.5 games for the fourth seed in the conference. The Cleveland Cavaliers sit in fifth place, in between New York (4th) and the 76ers (6th).

After Saturday's game, the New York Knicks will return home to face the Sacramento Kings Tuesday. As for the 76ers, they'll travel to Charlotte Monday for a matchup against the Hornets.
