Ken Rosenthal reveals full details of Jose Ramirez's contract extension with Guardians, including salary, bonuses

In 2022, the Cleveland Guardians nearly traded away Jose Ramirez. The Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres were both circling.

Instead, they reached a last-minute contract extension with Ramirez.

And now on Saturday, the Guardians have added more length to Ramirez's deal. It's got four additional years, and it will keep him in Cleveland through the 2032 season.

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal released a number of the following details on Saturday via posts on X.

Jose Ramirez contract details

The restructured and extended contract will pay Ramirez annual salaries of $25 million from 2026 through 2032. There will be $10 million deferred each year.

The contract also includes a number of bonuses.

Ramirez gets private jet travel covered for one roundtrip per year. He also gets a trip to and from the All-Star Game covered.

On the road, Ramirez gets an additional hotel room besides his suite.

The contract includes a potential bonus of $500,000 for winning MVP, $300,000 for placing second or third in voting, or $150,000 for placing fourth or fifth.

Ramirez's contract also includes bonuses for making the All-Star Game, winning the Gold Glove or Silver Slugger, or claiming MVP honors in the ALCS or World Series.

All told, Ramirez seems likely to remain a Cleveland ballplayer for the rest of his career.
