For the third time in four years, the Colts barely missed the playoffs in 2024, coming up a few games short of the final AFC wild card.
The big question for Indianapolis this year revolves around Anthony Richardson, as the third-year quarterback has yet to convince the organization that he's a franchise player. Now, the Colts enter a pivotal season that could lead to a breakout or a full house cleaning depending on the results.
The Colts' best chance to make the playoffs will likely be through their own division, as the AFC South is one of the weaker groups in the league. Indianapolis will play the Titans and Jaguars twice each, two teams that struggled mightily in 2024, along with a Texans team that was the AFC's worst division winner the past two seasons.
For Indianapolis to return to the playoffs, they will need to find success out of the division also, but the non-conference schedule is tougher than the six division games.
Here is a complete breakdown of the Colts' 2025 schedule, including dates, start times, and analysis for all 17 games.

Colts strength of schedule
Last year, Indianapolis played eight games against playoff teams, including two against the AFC South-winning Texans. However, Indy also played six games against teams that finished the year with no more than five wins, which evened out the strength of schedule.
The Colts' division helps make the team's strength of schedule this year lighter than most, as the AFC South is one of the weaker divisions in the league. Indianapolis' opponents totaled just a .464 winning percentage last year, which gives the Colts the eighth-easiest schedule.
Toughest tests: The Colts schedule is full of potential playoff teams, none more so than Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Besides Kansas City, the Rams and 49ers will also provide particularly difficult tests for Indianapolis in 2025, while the Chargers, Broncos, and Dolphins won't be pushovers either.
Biggest breaks: While the Colts will play many solid teams, they will benefit from being in a weaker division. The Titans won just three games last year and once again represent a rebuilding team, while the Jaguars are coming off a four-win season themselves. Indianapolis will play four games against those two alone. An interconference matchup against the Cardinals also looks favorable.
Colts record prediction
- Over/under win total: 7.5, per BetMGM
Bottom line: The Colts are at a crossroads in 2025, as they still don't know for sure if Anthony Richardson is their franchise quarterback. While Daniel Jones represents a decent backup option, the lack of certainty at quarterback could lead to a rough year. A relatively soft division could help the Colts surprise, but with questions at the most important position, a further fall wouldn't be shocking.
Record prediction: 6-11
