India vs South Africa 2025, 5th T20I: Toss result and playing 11s for today’s match, umpires list and pitch report

India are taking on South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the fifth and final T20I of the series. The Men in Blue are 2-1 up in the series and will be looking forward to seal yet another T20I triumph. As for the Proteas, they would be keen to sign off from the India tour on a high. A win in Ahmedabad will see them level the T20I series.

The previous match of the series in Lucknow was abandoned due to excessive fog without a ball being bowled. Before that, India beat South Africa by seven wickets in the third T20I in Dharamsala to take the crucial lead in the series. Bowling first, India bowled out the Proteas for 117 and chased down the target in 15.5 overs.

Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav were all among the wickets in Dharamsala. In the chase, Abhishek Sharma (35 off 18) got the team off to a blazing start. Shubman Gill, who is out of the final T20I, struggled. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav's poor run also continued as he perished for 12. He will be under the scanner for sure in Ahmedabad.

South Africa have won the toss and have opted to bowl first. Aiden Markram said:

“The wicket looks quite good. There might probably be some dew later on and ball comes on better.”

For the Proteas, George Linde comes in for Anrich Nortje. For India, Jasprit Bumrah is back in place of Harshit Rana, Washington Sundar comes in for Kuldeep Yadav, while Sanju Samson replaces injured Shubman Gill.
