The reverse countdown to the much-awaited India vs South Africa Test series has begun. India will play their third series of the 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle against defending champions South Africa. The first match of the two-Test series will get underway on November 14 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

This Test marks the return of Test cricket to Kolkata after six long years. The last time Kolkata hosted a Test was in November 2019, where India crushed Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs.

The pitch report will be live from the Eden Gardens in Kolkata just before the toss takes place. The curator said before the match that the pitch will have decent bounce on offer. He also mentioned that there will be turn, bounce and carry from Day 2 or 3.
