The New England Patriots honored Tom Brady in August by unveiling a statue of the legendary quarterback outside Gillette Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts. Brady, who won six Super Bowls in 20 years in New England, became the first player to get a statue from the franchise.
On Wednesday, another Patriots legend, Rob Gronkowski, was honored by the team. The legendary tight end, who won three Super Bowls in New England, signed a one-day contract with the franchise to retire as a Patriot. When asked about his feelings of potentially having a statue like his former teammate Brady, Gronkowski hinted that he wasn't expecting one.
"If you put one, just put me in the endzone, and be tiny," Gronkowski said. "Because Tom is one of a kind. The greatest. He played for 20+ years here. I think that the only statue to be deserved here is Tom Brady."•
