Piers Morgan has reacted to Anthony Joshua's car accident in Nigeria on Monday, December 29. While the heavyweight boxer escaped with minor injuries, two of his team members were killed in the crash.

Anthony Joshua was one of the five passengers in a black Lexus car on a major expressway in Ogun State, near Lagos, Nigeria. As per the country's Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Lexus appears to have been traveling faster than the prescribed speed limit. It reportedly crashed into a stationary truck standing on the side of the road while overtaking.

Joshua escaped with minor injuries, while two other passengers, including the driver, survived as well. However, the boxer's friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif "Latz" Ayodele, were killed. Ghami had been his strength and conditioning coach for a decade, while "Latz" was his personal trainer.

Reacting to this news, British journalist Piers Morgan wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

"Incredible that Anthony Joshua survived this."

He also reacted to the news of the deaths of "Latz" and Ghami in another post, writing:

"Incredibly sad."

Joshua's family has roots in Sagamu, a town in Ogun State in Nigeria. A relative told the BBC that the boxer was traveling to Ogun State from Lagos when the crash happened.

She was deeply appreciative of the call. Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was at the hospital with them, assured me he will do everything possible to ensure AJ receives the best attention. May God strengthen the families and grant repose to the souls of the departed," he added.
