The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres share an intense rivalry in the NL West and the two teams went toe to toe in the division race last season.
During a showdown between the two teams in June, Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani was hit by Padres pitcher Robert Suarez. The Padres pitcher was alleged to have intentionally hit Ohtani.
Dodgers Nation's Blake Harris claimed that Ohtani stopped tipping his hat to Padres manager and Suarez after the incident.

"Imagine losing Ohtani’s respect? Yikes."Imagine losing Ohtani’s respect? Yikes.
Boy if you lost respect from literally the most respectful and polite player in baseball, you know you fucked up.
Mike Shildt is gone and suarez is FA, wonder if he'll tip his helmet towards the Padres next season
It makes one wonder if the Padres will ever recover from the Ohtani Shun.
Mike Shildt might have decided to retire because of this biggest embarrassment of losing respect from Ohtani 😂
Shohei Ohtani wins NL MVP title for second consecutive time to cap off historic season
Shohei Ohtani capped off his second season with the Dodgers by claiming a second consecutive NL MVP award and his fourth overall MVP title (two with the Los Angeles Angels).
The Japanese superstar won the award unanimously for the fourth time, making him the only player to win the award unanimously more than once. The Dodgers two-way phenom now trails only MLB legend Barry Bonds, who won the award a record seven times.
Ohtani finished his second season with the Dodgers batting .282/.392/.622 with 55 home runs and 102 RBIs.
