Ilja Dragunov has been called out for dangerous moves on WWE SmackDown
Stevie Richards spoke about it on The Stevie Richards Show, and said that there was something very dangerous with the way that Ilja Dragunov was wrestling. He said that his match against Nathan Frazer on WWE SmackDown potentially had a career ending move. He said that there was a moment where Dragunov hit Nathan Frazer with a Suplex where he landed badly on the outside. Richards said that it reminded him of the spot between Big E and Ridge Holland that ended the New Day star's career.
"This here gives me vibes of Ridge Holland and Big E. Why are you giving any suplexes like this on the floor? Why? And he says nothing personal before he does it."He went on to say that it was unnecessary and called it a Chris Benoit German Suplex which where there was no-give to the landing.
"There is no protection for this. This is a Benoit German Suplex. Now, he didn’t land him on top of his head, but it’s still a no-give, German suplex. Only this side of the audience here sees it. Now, for TV, it’s whatever, but you still have a live crowd."The star went on to talk about another dangerous spot, where Nathan Frazer lands on his head following a very "rushed" German Suplex from the top rope.
"He's not ready. You already knew what was going to happen. He's not ready. Look how close in slow-mo. His head hit. There's no missing there. His head hit."Frazer went on to collapse after this and the match ended soon after.
Ilja Dragunov is currently in the middle of open challenges on WWE SmackDown, where he defends his US title regularly. He has been wrestling different stars every week.
