"I see Carlos Alcaraz more than my family" - Jannik Sinner reveals their 'crazy' New York experience as he echoes Spaniard's sentiments

It's almost like every other tournament, where Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz meet in the final. The most recent example came in Turin when both played the title game of the ATP Finals, with the Italian coming out as the winner.

After the US Open win over Sinner, Alcaraz said he meets Sinner more than his mother.

"I said in the US Open, I see him more than my mom, actually. So, I never get tired of him."

On Monday, Sinner echoed those words, saying that indeed they both meet too often on and off the court. He even shared an example of a New York City restaurant.

"It's the same for me," Sinner said of Alcaraz. "I see him more than my family. We are equal. It's crazy because sometimes, for example in New York, you go to a restaurant, New York is huge, and we find ourselves in the same restaurant without agreeing, it's incredible. So yes, it's true, we see each other a lot."

All 2025 encounters between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

This year, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have faced each other six times in ATP events, excluding the Six Kings Slam championship match, since it's a non-ATP event.

They played in the final of the Rome Masters, where the Italian was defeated 7-6, 6-1. Then came the five-set epic between the two at Roland Garros. Alcaraz saved multiple match points in that game before winning the French Open, 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6.

Sinner took his revenge at the next major championship. He defeated Alcaraz in the final at the All England Club to lift his first Wimbledon title. The duo again met at the Cincinnati Masters, where Sinner retired due to injury.

This came right before the US Open, where the duo met in the finals. Alcaraz came out on top this time, winning the match at Arthur Ashe Stadium, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Their final encounter in the 2025 season was the Nitto ATP Finals, where Sinner won the year-end championship by beating Alcaraz, 7-6, 7-5.

Despite the win, Sinner will end the 2025 season behind World No. 1 Alcaraz in the rankings. The head-to-head between the two is 10-6, with the Spaniard holding the edge.

Both have won all the Grand Slams in the last two years and no rival has come even closer to dethrone any of the two superstars.
