Kevin Durant has opened up about the impact of Alperen Sengun on his game in his first season with the Houston Rockets. Sengun appears to have taken the leap after an impressive summer with Turkey at the 2025 EuroBasket. The Rockets could even be his team despite having Durant as his teammate.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, a fan asked Durant to stop missing free throws because he wants to see him get another 50/40/90 season. KD, who is usually active on social media, replied and promised to be more locked in with his opportunities at the line.
Another fan then asked the two-time NBA champion what it feels like to play alongside a player like Sengun, who can force a switch or a double as a big man. Durant is in disbelief that he has a $185 million teammate capable of getting him open shots, though he would like to stop "bricking" to not let Sengun's efforts be wasted.

@RooshWilliams @keeptrolling5 Brother, can’t believe it lol. Sometimes I’m surprised I’m that open and start brickin…28 just sees everything.
Kevin Durant is the Houston Rockets' leading scorer this season, averaging 26.3 points per game. Alperen Sengun is a close second, putting up 25.7 PPG. Sengun also leads the Rockets in assists and steals per game at 6.7 and 2.0, respectively.
The Turkish star even averages 8.0 rebounds per game, so he's doing everything for the Rockets. His teammates just need to continue knocking down shots since he's going to find the open man if needed. He has always been compared to Nikola Jokic and is on an exciting trajectory.
