Former NFL running back Marcus Holliday has called out NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins for slamming Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant over his off-field issues. During an appearance on the "Out The Mud" podcast that aired on Saturday, Perkins discussed how his opinion of Morant changed for the worse.

"You f*ck up, not only do that make you look bad, that made me look bad," Perkins said. "They recognized you because of me speaking highly of you. It ain’t no coincidence you went from having 3 games on ESPN to 52.

When Holliday caught wind of Perkins' comments on Morant, he hit back at the ESPN analyst.

"Big Perk (Perkins), I love you big dawg, you're my guy, we talk all the time," Holliday said in a video he posted on X on Tuesday. "But bro, I can't let you slide, man, by going on a national platform and saying you're the reason ESPN decided to come down here a couple of years ago, because of Ja Morant. Intermated, that you're the reason that Ja Morant is getting all the notoriety he got and he's getting and receiving in the past, from ESPN. Big dawg, come on, now."

Holliday also said that Morant remains one of the best players in the NBA and that his athleticism sets him apart from the rest of the players.

Morant appeared to be waving a firearm during an Instagram livestream in March 2023. He was suspended for eight games by the NBA for the incident.

In May 2023, Morant was suspended for 25 games for a second incident, where he was again seen with a gun on social media in a different livestream.
