“I am quite confident” - Superbon looks to steal Masaaki Noiri’s own fans at ONE 173 in Tokyo

Reigning ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon of Thailand isn’t losing sleep over being at a home disadvantage at ONE 173.

In the main event of the loaded card at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, the 35-year-old veteran will look to become the undisputed king of the division against interim champ Masaaki Noiri.

Facing thousands of rabid Japanese who will be cheering for their countryman is a tough task even for a battle-hardened veteran like Superbon.

However, the Thai legend is used to conquering the world's biggest stages and silencing opposing crowds with his striking mastery.

The Superbon Training Camp founder told ONE Championship:

"I am quite confident that I will perform well and be able to mute the audience. I will have people asking to take photos with me after the match."

With a dazzling 116-37 professional record, Superbon has practically seen it all. He’s overcome pressure time and time again with nerves of steel.

The crowd will definitely roar for Noiri, but the 155-pound kickboxing kingpin plans to earn the Japanese faithful's respect by showcasing his elite striking skills.

Superbon doubts Masaaki Noiri can knock him out

Masaaki Noiri has been vocal about his desire to knock out Superbon, leading up to this monumental unification battle.

While the Thai megastar admires the interim champ's confidence, he made it clear that's simply a pipe dream.

In the same interview, Superbon said it will take a miracle for the Japanese slugger to come close to knocking him out:

"If Japanese fighters think they have something to put me down, for me, I don't think so. And I personally think that is impossible."

Meanwhile, Superbon is also leaning towards a sensational finish at ONE 173, and plans to spoil Noiri's hero's welcome with his flashy signature head kicks.
