Welcome along to the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's AEW News & Rumor Roundup. Today, we are looking at stories involving top pro-wrestling stars, including Andrade and Bayley, among others.
A top star in AEW confirmed a two-year hiatus from wrestling. Meanwhile, All Elite Wrestling seems to be erasing Andrade from its history, and Bayley was seen with a top champion in Tony Khan's promotion. We have plenty of headline-worthy news to cover today, so let's get started without delay.
#4. Andrade missing from Don Callis Famiily potrait; AEW seemingly erasing him
All Elite Wrestling appears to be distancing itself from Andrade amid uncertainty regarding his future with the company. EL Idolo made headlines earlier this year after returning to AEW on the six-year anniversary edition of Dynamite and aligning himself with The Don Callis Family. His surprise return came just weeks after announcing his WWE departure, but his appearances were short-lived.

Following his return, reports emerged suggesting that the former NXT Champion had breached a non-compete clause stemming from his WWE contract. As a result, he was reportedly pulled from AEW programming while legal matters were being addressed. During the October 29 episode of Fright Night Dynamite, Don Callis unveiled a portrait of his faction, and Andrade was noticeably missing from the image. Moreover, a video package recapping The Don Callis Family’s storyline that aired during the episode did not include footage of Andrade’s return or any of his appearances with the group.
#3. Kota Ibushi confirms 2-year hiatus
Kota Ibushi has officially confirmed that he will be stepping away from in-ring competition for approximately two years following the injury he sustained earlier this month. The Golden Star suffered a broken femur during his match on Collision: Homecoming, after falling from the top rope to the ringside. Ibushi had to be stretchered out of the arena.
The Japanese star has since undergone successful surgery shortly after the incident and has now begun the recovery process. In a recent Instagram post, Ibushi shared an update with fans, revealing that doctors had removed 42 surgical staples from his leg during a follow-up visit. He confirmed that he has been discharged and is now recovering at home.
"Ok last inspection today! And up to my waist I pulled out 42 medical staples! Now I can go home! It was nice until, but well reality is reality. Femur fracture and personal life will be fine in 8-12 months. From there, I’ve gotten my body back in full swing and putting in ring practice and so on, I’d better see it for 2 years," wrote Ibushi on Instagram.#2. WWE star Bayley was seen with Kris Statlander
A new social media post from WWE star Bayley has caught fans' attention after she was seen with reigning AEW Women's World Champion Kris Statlander. The Role Model shared a series of photos on Instagram just hours before that week’s AEW Dynamite aired.
The first image in her photo carousel showed Bayley with Kris Statlander, the current AEW Women’s World Champion. In the photo, Statlander is holding Bayley up in a playful pose as they both smile for the camera. The post quickly gained attention because of the friendly crossover moment between WWE and AEW personalities. Bayley's post included several other photos of friends and colleagues from WWE, like CM Punk, Nikki Bella, and Maxxine Dupri, along with some personal snapshots.

#1. Renee Paquette reacts to WWE Legend Mike Rotunda's heart attack news
The wrestling world recently received a concerning update about WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda, the father of the late Bray Wyatt, stating that he suffered a major heart attack. The situation was first revealed by his brother, Barry Windham, who said that Rotunda had been moved to hospice care. However, that claim was later clarified in a statement made by Rotunda’s daughter, Mika Rotunda, on Instagram:
"My father is not in hospice, but rather in a rehabilitation center. He suffered a massive heart attack on September 20th, was in a coma for a week, and spent over a month hospitalized. By the grace of God, he has now transitioned to a rehabilitation center, where our family remains present, hopeful, and focused on his recovery."Following the news breaking, AEW personality Renee Paquette, who has a long history with the Rotunda family, responded with a heartfelt message on Mika's IG post:
"Sending you all so much love ❤️❤️"We at Sportskeeda wish Mike Rotunda a speedy recovery and send our best wishes to his family during this difficult time.
