To upgrade weapons in Battlefield Redsec, you have to find the weapon kits in the Battle Royale map, Fort Lyndon. The upgrade system features six levels: green, blue, gray, purple, gold, and red. Each kit is linked to a specific weapon type, and each one can enhance the firearm by one rarity level. The lowest upgrade level is gray, which can be upgraded to green, then blue, and on to the subsequent levels.

After getting the required weapon kit, you can open your inventory tab and pick the gun you want to upgrade. The inventory can be accessed by pressing the Tab key on the keyboard or the touchpad button on the PS5 controllers. After opening the inventory, you'll notice a set of three colored arrows next to the upgradable weapons. This indicates the rarity that you can upgrade your gun to.

The weapons in Battlefield Redsec have two upgrade paths. You can select the sight attachments or others that can increase the overall stats of your weapon. These buffs can range from reduced recoil, improved handling, or increased damage range, among others.

The last and top-most weapon level is red, and it can only be acquired by looting custom weapon drops. These are delivered at random locations during a match in the Redsec battle royale. You can access them to equip a single custom weapon build that you've made after upgrading your firearm. These builds are more reliable than the arsenal you can gather from the lootboxes.
