Unlocking the Strategic Sword in Where Winds Meet requires a bit of setup:

• Touch of Death Mystic Art: You’ll need this to silently eliminate guards. It’s obtained by completing Echoes of Old Battles side quest. Without it, sneaking through the Sanctum becomes much harder.
• A Dragon Key: This key is consumed upon entry. It opens the hidden passage inside the Sanctum, so make sure you have one ready before heading out.

Once both requirements are sorted, you’re ready to make your way to the Sanctum. Here are the steps:

1) Reach the Strategic Sword Sanctum

Travel south of the Qinghe Region, where the Sanctum is located. If you’ve already explored this area, you can save time by fast-traveling using the Back Mountain Teleporter. Once inside, interact with the Loong Herm Dragon Pillar to use your Dragon Key and open the hidden passage.

2) Take the first chest

Right after entering the first area, you’ll spot two patrolling militiamen.

• Wait until they walk past.
• Assassinate them using Touch of Death.
• Open the first chest once the area is quiet.

This chest doesn’t give the technique, but opening it is part of progressing through the Sanctum safely.

3) Secure the second chest

From the first chest, look left, you’ll see another chest in the distance.

• Two militiamen have clear sightlines on it.
• Take them out one at a time, waiting for moments when neither guard is watching.
• Open the chest once the perimeter is safe.

You should move slowly here, as this room has a wider field of view than it initially seems.

4) Reach the upper platform

After opening both chests, start making your way toward the eastern side of the room.

• Takedown any remaining militiamen along the path.
• Head up the ramp that leads to the second floor.

Once you’re on the upper level, turn around and look back into the central chamber. You’ll see a ledge leading to a glowing blue circle.

5) Steal the Strategic Sword

Jump onto the ledge and approach the blue circle. This is where you use Skill Theft to steal the Strategic Sword Martial Art directly from the master. Once the animation completes, the technique is yours, and you’ve officially unlocked the Strategic Sword in Where Winds Meet.
