Emma Raducanu's birthday celebration in London has unexpected Carlos Alcaraz flavor to it

Emma Raducanu recently turned 23, and she celebrated the occasion with plenty of birthday fun. What fans didn’t see coming was the unexpected Carlos Alcaraz twist in the middle of it all. The two have built noticeable chemistry on court this season, and that connection seemed to sneak its way into her celebrations, too.

Raducanu put together a solid 2025 season as she continued working towards regaining her old form. Some of her standout results included a semifinal run in Washington and a quarterfinal in Miami. She wrapped up the year with a 28–22 W/L record and finished as World No. 29, with the Ningbo Open marking her final event of the season.

The Brit then headed back to her hometown of Bromley in South East London. She rang in her 23rd birthday on November 13 and marked the occasion with an Instagram photo dump. Some of the pictures showed her enjoying a meal at the popular Cambio De Tercio restaurant.

"Grateful for my 23 trips & having the best friends/ family. thank you for all the bday love 🤍🧁🌸," Emma Raducanu wrote in the caption.

Cambio De Tercio is a well-known Spanish restaurant in London and a favorite among tennis stars, especially Carlos Alcaraz. According to owner Abel Lusa, Alcaraz has been visiting the place regularly whenever he is in town, a tradition he’s kept since he was 16.

The Spaniard’s go-to dishes include ribeye steak, lamb, prawns, octopus, and avocado, but his absolute favorite is the crispy salmon nigiri made with Spanish vinegar and served on chipotle mayonnaise. He loves the restaurant so much that he often orders food to his hotel when he can’t visit in person.

Rafael Nadal, Garbine Muguruza, and Conchita Martínez are also among the many tennis stars who frequent the spot.

Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz sparked plenty of buzz at Wimbledon after fans spotted them practicing together ahead of their matches. The moment quickly fueled dating rumors, but when Raducanu was asked about it in a press conference, she brushed it off with a smile and made it clear they’re simply good friends.

Raducanu said:

"We're just good friends."

Alcaraz also prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, especially when it comes to dating. He has never confirmed whether he is single or seeing someone, explaining that even though his career has made much of his life public, certain things are better kept private.

"My life has been very exposed, so I have to know how to deal with it. Even so, it's true that there are many things that should remain private, because it's important to know the difference between what you can and can't show to others," the Spaniard told Spanish media during the ATP Finals. "Honestly, I'm very open and I share a lot of things, but there are others that are better kept to yourself to feel secure and at peace, even if it's just a small bubble where you can feel safe; so that not everyone can have access to that information or comment on those things. In the end, whether positive or negative, everything has a big impact," he added.

Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz’s friendship dates back to Wimbledon 2021, when his breakthrough run first caught her eye. His performance stayed with her, and she later admitted that his rise was one of the things that inspired her during her own fairytale journey to the US Open title that year.
