The Light’s Rebuke is a unique one-handed weapon tied to the newly introduced Paladin class in Diablo 4. This weapon directly scales Vulnerable damage output and the Divine Lance skill of the Paladin. With its unique effect, the Light’s Rebuke can ramp up damage the more you deal damage with the Divine Lance.

In this guide, we will break down the stats, unique effect, and how to get the Light’s Rebuke in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4: What is the Light’s Rebuke?

The Light’s Rebuke is an ancestral unique flail specifically designed to enhance the Divine Lance skill of the Paladin by increasing the damage for the subsequent hits done using the skill. This unique item specifically synergizes well with the Tip of the Spear variant of the Divine Lance, since the unique item has increased Vulnerable damage.

Stats of the Light’s Rebuke

  • +65.0% Vulnerable Damage
  • +(2 - 3) to Divine Lance (up to +5 with mastercrafting)
  • +(51 - 65) Strength (up to +98 with mastercrafting)
  • +(41.5 - 55.0)% Chance for Divine Lance to Deal Double Damage (up to +82.5% with mastercrafting)
  • +(114 - 212) Maximum Life (up to +318 with mastercrafting)

Increased Vulnerable damage grants an overall increase in damage output. The unique item directly scales the max life and strength stats of the paladin, increasing its survivability against tougher enemies.

The Light’s Rebuke grants up to +5 ranks to the Divine Lance core skill of the Paladin and also up to an 82.5% chance to deal double damage using the core skill. This grants the Paladin extremely high burst potential, capable of obliterating bosses when built properly.

Unique effects of the Light’s Rebuke

  • Enemies impaled by the first strike of Divine Lance take 180 - 250% increased damage from Divine Lance's subsequent hits.

This unique effect is extremely strong against singular targets and a great choice for boss-melting Palladium builds. Having the ability to deal up to 250% increased damage with subsequent hits allows the Paladin to easily shred through elite packs and endgame bosses in Diablo 4.

Builds that predominantly use the Divine Lance skill will benefit from its increased damage scaling for secondary attacks of the skill.

How to get the Light’s rebuke in Diablo 4

The Light’s Rebuke can be acquired from multiple sources in Diablo 4. Some of these sources offer a higher drop rate than the rest, making them easy to target. Here are all the sources of the Light’s Rebuke in Diablo 4:

Boss farming

Farming bosses is the easiest way to target specific items in their loot pool. Currently, only Urivar drops the Light’s Rebuke in Diablo 4. So you can only target farm the Light’s Rebuke unique flail if you already have the Vessel of Hatred DLC.

1) Urivar

  • Location: Fields of Judgement, Teganze Plateau, Nahantu
  • Difficulty: Torment
  • Boss hoard key: 12x Judicator’s Masks
  • Where to get boss hoard keys: Whisper of the Dead caches (Tree of Whispers), Kurast Undercity (requires Tribute of Titans)

Continuously farming Urivar is the best method of acquiring the Light’s Rebuke in Diablo 4.

Nightmare dungeons

The Light’s Rebuke unique flail can drop from any random enemy and loot chest. Nightmare dungeons pit you against massive waves of mobs and elite packs, which drastically increase the drop chance of unique items like the Light’s Rebuke. Additionally, the dungeon completion reward also has a high chance of yielding unique items along with rare crafting materials.

World events and world bosses

Farming for unique items in world events (like Helltides and Gathering Legions) and world bosses offers a slightly higher drop chance. Among these Helltide events are the best place to farm uniques.

During these hourly timed events, you must farm as many Aberrant Cinders as possible and then use them to open the Tortured Gift of Light Weaponry (costs 125 Aberrant Cinders) and the Tortured Gift of Mystery (costs 250 Aberrant Cinders).

Use Obols to gamble for one-handed weapons

Obols can be acquired from random events and exploring the open world of Diablo 4. Once you have acquired enough Obols, you can spend 50 Obols per roll to gamble for one-handed weapons at the Purveyor of Curiosities.

The rarity of items varies from magic to unique, making this an extremely unreliable method of farming in Diablo 4.
