For the firs time since 2006, the Hurricanes are back in the Stanley Cup Final. The man who helped lead that side to glory continues to loom large on the team's exploits 20 years later.
Rod Brind'Amour is the winningest head coach in Carolina history. He's also one of the franchise's most decorated players, ranking 13th in goals (174), sixth in points (473) and eighth in ice time (14,600:48). Brind'Amour captured back-to-back Selke Trophies as the NHL's most defensively-sound forward and, most importantly, hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup, doing so as Hurricanes captain during that famous 2006 run.
The 55-year-old now barks out orders from behind the bench. The wins have kept on coming for the Ottawa native, who has turned the franchise into a juggernaut made in his image.

Hurricanes playoff history
The Hurricanes have tallied 100 playoff wins since relocating to Raleigh in 1998. They actually sport a positive record in postseason games since the 1998-99 season, posting a 100-72 (.581) mark.

Rod Brind'Amour playoff wins as player
Brind'Amour has been present for almost all of the Hurricanes' postseason victories. He made his presence felt as a player, captaining the side to its greatest-ever achievement — the 2006 Stanley Cup.
Four years prior, Brind'Amour helped anchor Carolina's run to the 2002 Stanley Cup Final, producing four goals and eight assists in 23 games.
All told, Brind'Amour played in 72 playoff games for the Hurricanes. In that spell, he recorded 38 points (12 goals, 20 assists), 34 of which came in his first three postseason trips with the franchise. He collected 39 playoff wins with Carolina, posting a .542 postseason win rate in his Hurricanes career.

Brind'Amour picked up where he left off when he joined Carolina's ranks as its head coach prior to the 2018-19 season.
The Hurricanes have made the playoffs in all seven seasons that Brind'Amour has been their coach. During that time, they have picked up 59 wins (and counting), winning 57.8 percent of his playoff games as a head coach. Brind'Amour's tally of 57 wins in his first 100 playoff games ranks No. 9 all-time in NHL history, eclipsing marks set by Scotty Bowman (57), Mike Keenan (54) and Peter Laviolette (51).
