While Skubal doesn't become a free agent until the 2026 season concludes, he is already attracting interest from the league following his impressive last few seasons.

The Dodgers are estimated to have $396 million payroll in 2025, according to FanGraphs. This is one of the highest payrolls for any team in the big league.

According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, the Tigers are leaning towards trading Skubal while they still can and the Dodgers are expected to be one of the biggest bidders.

After this latest development, fans are mocking the Dodgers, who are down 3-2 in their World Series clash against the Toronto Blue Jays.

According to Mark Feinsand, the Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and the San Diego Padres are the teams to watch out for a possible trade with the Tigers for Tarik Skubal. Feinsand also shared what a potential deal could look like.

“A Dodgers deal would potentially have to include outfielder Josue De Paula, Los Angeles’ No. 1 prospect and the No. 13 prospect in baseball," Feinsand wrote. "The Dodgers have seven players currently on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list – not to mention an inexpensive, budding star in Roki Sasaki – giving president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman a number of chips to use in a deal if he chooses to make his pitching-rich club even richer.”

Skubal will attract several other teams looking to acquire the ace before next season's trade deadline. Also, Detroit will be best served to trade him if they are not willing to give out the money the Cy Young winner deserves.
